Review: KitchenAid Artisan Cake Mixer

When it comes to “fancy” mixers there is one that stands out the most and that’s the KithenAid Artisan. It’s available in a huge variety of colours, perfect for anyone thinking of starting a cupcake business and want a mixer to meet their specific design needs.

KitchenAid Mixer Attachments

Initially the Artisan mixer will come with 3 attachments, a whisk, a flat beater and a dough hook. For cupcake / cake makers you’ll be using the high quality, metal whisk for all of your batter mixture and the durable beater for all of your buttercream.

These are very easy to wash and definitely don’t mark easily. If you want to buy additional attachments later on down the line, that’s no problem! KitchenAid have made a range of attachments that can fit straight onto the Artisan mixer.

Durable Mixing Bowl

The bowl has a capacity of 4.8 litres which lets you make a few batches of cupcakes at a time. The polished stainless steel bowl is also extremely durable and doesn’t mark / scratch easily, staying nice and shiny for ages!

Unlike some other mixing bows, the KitchenAid Artisan comes with a handle build into the design, perfect for moving it around the kitchen safely and holding while you spoon our your mixture.

This mixer has a variety of speeds that it can be set to, ideal if you need the consistency of your mixture to be absolutely perfect. We’ve found this to be really useful when making buttercream too. If you start off slow you can make sure that the mixture doesn’t fly all over the kitchen, then once it has blended together slightly, the speed can be increased and the job can be finished in minutes.

Available in LOTS of Different Colours

The KitchenAid Artisan is available in a huge range of colours such as red, cream, black, pink, white, blue and pistachio! This is ideal to suit all tastes and perfect to match your businesses brand colours!

A good quality mixer is an essential piece of equipment for anyone starting a cupcake business, with KitchenAid Artisan there’s no way you can go wrong. It may be slightly more expensive than some of the others but you will be able to depend on it all of the time, plus it won’t let you down, with amazing results each time.
