Don’t Restrict What Your Cupcake Business Can Offer


A business lesson you’re likely to learn quickly is that you shouldn’t limit what you’re offering to your customers.

Often a customer will ask you for something that you don’t currently offer or hadn’t thought of offering (giant cupcakes, mini cupcakes, parties, lessons etc). This is a good thing!

It will give you a better idea of what else the people who are interested in your cupcakes would like to buy.

This is a great way to make more money from your business as it’s your customers who are telling you what they want!

Here are some things that you might not be offering but could be making money from.

Offering a New Service

If you’re unsure, don’t be too hasty. Take some time to work out the costs and if it’s actually possible for you to meet their requirements.

Ask if you can take their phone number / email address and let them know if you are able to do it or not.

Your customers will be much happier knowing that you’ve been honest with them rather than saying that you can do it and then making a mess of it.

Consider investing some time to see whether the new service would really be worth offering and how much extra money could be made by offering it.

Take into consideration the initial costs such as new cupcake tins, cutters etc. also don’t forget about the materials and the time it will take to produce.

Announce It

Once you’ve completed the order and you’re happy with how the new service went, let everyone know about it.

Make sure to advertise it on your website, Facebook, Twitter and your email list if you’ve set one up, there’s a good chance that other people will be interested in your new service too!

If it all goes well you could increase your income massively. You may also open your business up to a whole new range of potential customers wanting what you’re offering who might not have been interested otherwise.
